Amazon has been caught censoring and removing adult fiction books from its search engine results without informing the publishers and authors. The only way to find adult books now would be to go into the books section and search specifically for what you’re looking for.
According to the erotic fiction writer Selena Kitt, corporations that sell books like Amazon should inform their authors and publishers every time they change the rules of what is and is not acceptable. She states on her blog “‘Everytime one of these corporations decides to change the rules (again) without telling publishers (again) what or what isn’t acceptable in their venue, they take food off my table.”
This is a case of corporate censorship and is largely subjective on its usage. Some would say this limits authors as well as readers by making good content hard to find, but others would say it prevents easy access to adult titles by minors and people that prefer not to see adult books when searching for daily products.
