Conversion Tracking VS Analytics Version 2
Conversion tracking and web analytics are two different tools used by internet marketers for internet marketing. These two tools are two different tools but help internet marketers a lot to determine the best way of making internet promotional strategies. Marketers can use either one or use both tools at the same time, these will not conflict with each other’s actions.
Conversion tracking tools are mainly used for the web promotions from click to conversion. But the web analytics tools offer more information about the visitor’s activities in the website. Web analytic tools provide a report on conversion tracking. Both these tools use cookies t track the visitor’s activities in the website. Marketer’s domain provides the 1st party cookies whereas tracking company’s website provides the 3rd arty cookies. Those tracking tools which use 1st party cookies are more accurate than the tools which use 3rd party cookies. Users can get a lot of information by using these two tools. They can get information about sales, number of visitors, value of each sale, number of different signups, ROI etc. and base on these information, they can set up promotional strategies.
In internet marketing, a conversion happens when a visitor clicks on an advertisement and that advertisement leads the clicker to a specific place like: make a purchase, fill up a form or any type of sign up. These target places are mainly determined by the marketers. There are a lot of conversion tools are available in the market which help the marketers to generate more sales by giving better ideas about keywords.
On the other hand, analytics tools provide much better results about the website visits. A marketer can get information about different analysis, conversion funnel analysis and some other different elevated conversion reports. In case of Google, analytics tool is integrated to the AdWords tool.
Some basic key points about these two tools are:
- Conversion tracking tools credits conversion for clicks whereas analytics tools credits those as visits. If a visitor clicks on the ad and visit the page but do not purchase and come back to the page after few days, conversion tracking tool will register the conversion on the first date but in the same case, analytic tools will attribute the search to organic unless the visitor clicked on the advertisement again.
- Cookie behavior of these two tools is different. Generally conversion tools store cookies for less days whereas analytic tools store the cookies for a long time. For an example, if a visitor clicks an ad after 31 days then the conversion tool can not remember this, but will be mentioned in the analytic tool.
Both these two tools are important for the internet marketers. Although these tools work in the similar ways but the output can be used for different purses. In the internet marketing these two different tools are very important for the marketers or the site owners who want to get more sale.
