Google Chrome accounts for roughly 60% of web browser (Wikipedia) and one of the main reasons for this is the add ons it offers. Users can download Chrome extensions that increase the user’s browsing experience. They can range from a dictionary to online games, some for work some for play. All in all the primary goal of many of these extensions is to make a user’s life easier and have these tools all located in the browser, rather than stand alone programs on a desktop.
Now if you’re a digital marketer there are a number of great extensions available to make your life easier. The following extensions can help advertisers work more efficiently all within their browser.
If you work in the world of search marketing you’re aware of Moz. The site provides excellent site and SERP metrics that are essential for marketers. With MozBar many of these metrics are auto-generated on both web pages and in the search engine results. In other words when you browse to a web page MozBar will grab metrics that help users get a quick glimpse into the page. Similarly when a search is done within Google metrics show next to the result with information regarding domain authority, links, etc.
These are just a few of the features of the tool. The tool allows for keyword highlighting and analyzing, custom searches, and even exporting data in CSV files.

One of my personal favorites and typically the first thing I install when using a new Chrome browser. Hover Zoom is exactly what the name entitles, hover over an image and it zooms in. Ok, not exactly zoom in, however will enlarge the image to its actual size.
Clicking on an image, opening it into a new tab, and waiting to load can get unruly. With this extension you can quickly mouse-over and image or thumbnail and it will be displayed in its larger format.
Lightshot (Screenshot Tool)
Screen capture tools are a necessity regardless of the industry you’re in. Sure you can use ctrl + alt + Print Screen, but then you’re stuck having to paste it into another document, resize, and make any edits. With Lightshot you can select the window size you want, add in lines, text, shapes, etc, and save it to your desktop. If you want you can even directly share it to a social network.
If you’re using Google Tag Manager, which you should be, the best way to test, troubleshoot, and verify tags is with Tag Assistant. Once on a page, enable the extension to run and you’ll be shown which tags are present and which tags have errors.
LastPass has been the recipient of numerous awards and has been listed on tons of blogs similar to this one. What makes it so great? The fact you only have to remember 1, yes one, uno, ein, makes LastPass a must have. The extension saves all your logins and will autologin for you, syncing your logins.
Does your browser tend to slow down throughout the day? You may have too many tabs open, which can slow your computer. With The Great Suspender tabs that are not used after a period of time they will be suspended. Within the background the page will no longer run which will free up memory. When you navigate back to the tab simply reload it back to where you were.
There’s lots of content on the web and reading it all in one sitting is impossible. With the extension you can add content to your feedly which saves it for later. Users can also email, or share the pages directly to their Twitter or Facebook pages. Simply navigate back to your account where you can manage your content.
