Conversion Tracking is a type of website’s traffic analysis which convinces the visitors to do a desired action. Conversion tracking mainly converts visitors to potential customers. Is it useless if a website gets huge traffic but most of the visitors do nothing but hitting the site. Marketers want the visitors to do what they want and Conversion tracking tools are very effective to fulfill their goals.
This is mainly the process that determines the number of sales or any actions that occurs for the advertisement. By using conversion tracking tools, marketers can measure the effectiveness of their advertisement campaigns.
Traditionally the total number of ad impressions are divided by the total number of clicks the ad received was utilized as a measure of the success. If the website is visited by 100 visitors and 3 visitors do the desired action on the landing page then it means that the landing page has a 3% conversion rate. But now, marketers can also know the number of total clicks, unique clicks and how many actions that the ad generated. Marketers just want to convert the visitors to the customers and this is not an easy task to do, but the use of different conversion tools make this process much easier.
Marketers can set up any type of conversion goal. It can be a website form filling, downloading any documents or purchasing any product. This is determined by the site owner or the respective marketer. Marketers should keep in their mind that visitors do not know that what to do in the website. This is marketer’s responsibility to inform them the necessary task to do. Any action like: “Contact Us”, “Download” etc. encourage conversions. Setting goals abut the number of needed conversions is very much helpful to determine the success of the promotional campaigns.
Marketers can test to increase the conversion rate. There are mainly two types of online conversion tests and these are:
- Multivariate Testing
- A/B Split Testing
Multivariate testing is when a marketer tests more than one scene of a website. This is the most cost saving and time saving method but sometimes it can be tough to find out the reason of changing the conversion rate.
A/B Split testing is when a marketer changes only one element at a time. This testing process is more accurate but also more time taking. In the time sensitive campaigns, testing one element at a time is not possible. If the marketer has enough time or if the campaign is permanent then A/B Split testing is the best option to follow. This is the highly effective type of testing since marketers will always know the accurate result of each change.
Conversion tracking is a very effective way to increase the amount of sales or fulfilling other goals in internet marketing. So, marketers should get enough knowledge about conversion tracking and manage few good tools for this.
