When Google Slaps
A Google Slap is a term used by marketers in Google advertisement policy. Basically Google slaps when it finds that an advertisement is not up to the mark. If an advertisement, which Google places in various AdSense linked websites, is not carrying proper contents related to the advertisements and if clickers get any other information other than the main theme, then Google addresses this ad as a bad advertisement and then take punitive action.
This action can be increase the rate of ay per click, decrease page rank or even suspend the advertisement from their index. Google slaps for many reasons. Let’s have a look on these:
Bad Page Content: If the content of the webpage is not related to the keywords a market is bidding on then Google may slap. This is very important to match the contents with the keywords. Google maintains a quality score and if it goes low then Google may slap one.
Not Linked: If the landing age is a squeeze and if it is not linked with other web pages then Google slaps. Websites should have few links to other web pages; it can be same website’s page or other website’s page.
Less Text: If a landing page is filled with a lot of eye catchy graphics and pictures, and if it does not contain enough texts means information then Google may slap. This happens because the process is not manual. Google uses different bots to run the operation and these bots can not read the graphics. If it finds graphics other than texts then it may ban the site. If any graphic contains text, still it is not possible for Google bots to read those texts.
Non-targeted Ad Groups: If the ad groups are not targeted then Google may slap. This is very important to break up the ad groups into highly targeted ad groups. Ad Groups should have different types of keywords.
Google Slap can be occurred for many reasons. Site owners don’t need to be panicked because Google will still allow them to post advertisement if they can correct the mistakes. It is highly suggested not to use any such tools which generates automated reports to Google because these tools may lead the website to a permanent ban and that is more serious than the Slap. An expert’s suggestion can be taken or site owners can take assistance from an expert to solve the problem.
