Why Google Slapped or Banned Your Website
Without any question, Google is the number one search engine of the world with more than 50% market share. A lot of small and medium businessmen depend on Google for advertisements of their products. These businessmen own Google AdWords account and advertise through this account but sometimes Google slaps or ban these accounts.
Now this is the question that why Google slapped or banned the websites.
There can be thousands of reason that why Google slaps a website. At the very beginning, it has to be cleared that Google never slaps a website for personal reason rather Google always appreciates advertisers to use AdWords more so that Google can generate more profit.
Quality is one of Google’s key themes. Good quality made Google the number one and Google guys know this very well that compromising with quality will decrease their popularity and that is why they are very much strict about their rules and regulations. If someone violets those rules or regulations then Google takes initiatives very promptly just to ensure their top class quality services.
Google always counts good user experience. The bases of their TOS are good user experience. If any website fails to make a good landing page then users will be demoralized and ultimately Google’s fame will be affected. So Google is very careful about their ads especially about the landing pages. Google always prefers good, useful, user friendly, informative and to the point type landing pages. All their created rules are related to these issues. So this is certain that if any website owner or advertiser fails to provide these then obviously there will be a big chance to be slapped by Google.
There are some basic differences between Google Slap and Google Ban. A Google slap happens when Google penalized a website by pointing out the bad keywords. Google maintains a quality score for the AdWords accounts and if any website fails to maintain its quality then Google decreases the quality score of that site. An advertiser can still use Google AdWords after being slapped. This is just a warning for them to fix the problems up.
On the other hand, Google Ban means, Google will disable the AdWords account. A user can be slapped few times before the ban. And after banned this is not possible to use that account anymore. Google even disable other associated accounts as they have very good knowledge about an advertiser by checking out his/her credit card information, address, IP etc.
Now lets have a look that why Google slaps or bans a website. There can be so many reasons behind the ban or slap but some key points are:
If a website contains irrelevant data then Google may slap that site. A copied webpage has high possibilities to be getting banned. Google always refers useful and original website. If they find multiple websites with same information then they may ban all those websites although one of those contains the original data. So site owners have to be very careful about web page hijacking. There are so many tools available in the market to check these out.
Keywords are another key issue to be banned. If any site owner uses keywords which are generating traffics but those keywords are not associated with the product or services, then Google may penalize that website or AdWords account. Users will see an website which contains information which is different than the keywords then users will have a bad idea about Google, and just to prevent it, Google takes initiatives against those bad keywords.
There are so many other reasons behind a ban or slap. A bad click rate on the advertisements can be another good reason behind these problems. The bottom line is: Google wants to see everybody happy. Users will be happy if they get good advertisements and advertisers will be happy if they get more sales through the advertisements. And quality advertisements can do these things, so Google always focus on quality ads and that is why they eliminate few accounts just to keep the good quality.
